Luke 14: 7-14- Caring for the Needy
Read Luke 14: 7- 14 - In this passage, Jesus gives us a little more direction on how we should view other people. Verses 12, 13,14 say, 'Then He also said to him, who invited Him, " When you give a dinner or a su pper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. (13) But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed , the lame , the blind. (14) And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just ." Many today want the government to be responsible for caring for people in need. Jesus is showing us it is our responsibility to be looking out for the needs of others. We have a responsibility to care for "the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind." How we care for those less fortunate than us can be show n in many ways, but we all have that responsibility. We also need to continue to not see ourselves as more imp...
