Luke 11: 24- 26- " When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking est; and find none, he says, ' I will return to my house from which I came. ' (25) And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. (2 6) then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first."   Jesus healed people, He raised some from the dead and He did other miraculous things. One thing that is mentioned several times is Jesus' casting demons out of people. We do not hear much about casting out of demons these days. Maybe we should be. What I am taking away from these short three verses is that there is a spiritual battle in this world that is being fought on so many fronts. Read Matthew 17: 14-21 - This is a second look at the previous passage of scripture. It focuses on verse 18 which says, ‘And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.’ The other lesson I see in these verses is that I need to pray and then listen for what the Holy Spirit wants me to know. I need to open my spiritual soul so the Holy Spirit can help me to discern what the situation may be. Is this situation a phys ical need or is it really a spiritual need as it was in this example in the scriptures? I need to discern when to begin to pray for spiritual intervention because Satan is working to cripple a person . Is this a spiritual battle rather than a physical, earthly battle? I need to be prepared to pray for Jesus to subdue Satan in a given situation. Jesus cast a demon out of the person i n this section of scripture. This was a spiritual battle raging in this poor person. We need to pray for discernment and also give time for the Holy Sp...

Matthew 12: 43- 45- The world today offers us a great many of great things . It also offers us a great many of things that are not good for our relationship with Christ. We need to guard our hearts . Satan is working to compromise us and weaken our relationship with Jesus. Jesus says this, ‘When the unc lean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seek rest but find none. Then it says, “I will return to my house from which I came. ” And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it s even other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also, will it be with this evil generation. ’ To speak of spiritual conflicts or spiritual battles is not a popular topic but it is something we should not ignore.
