Luke 9: 25-26- Not Being Ashamed

Luke 9: 25- 26- “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and is himself destroyed or lost? (26) For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.  This is a blunt statement for the people listening to what Jesus was saying. It is a blunt statement for people in the world today. Jesus talks of being ashamed of those who are ashamed of who Jesus is and His principles for living. That means rejection and people need to understand there will be a time to stand before Jesus and receive acceptance and an eternity with Him. There will be many not included on that day of judgment. People need to understand there is joy in the life with Jesus Christ and living by His principles.    Proverbs 13: 16 - Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool lays open his folly.

Revelation 6: 9-11- The Cry of the Martyrs

Revelation 6: 9- 11- “When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?’ T hen a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.”   This fifth seal that is opened can easily be called “the cry of the martyrs”.  I s ee the human nature of the martyrs asking when their deaths will be avenged. God did not say the martyrs would not be avenged.  There would be a judgment coming.  We need to know there is a judgment coming for all of us.  God, in all His glory, sees the honor due to those martyred and give them unblemished wh ite robes.  We ...

I John 4: 13-17- Love & Judgment

Read  I John 4: 13-17- John gives us some good information as he writes about God’s love for us. In verse 17 John writes, “And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So, we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face Him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.” More than anything, God wants us to love the people in our lives. It is clear in this chapter how important our love for others is to God. There is also this important point. We will stand before God one day and if we let love rule our behavior, we can stand confidently yet humbly before God. No one can imagine what that experience will be like, but we all need to know we will stand before the God of love, and He will be interested in how we allowed love to live in our lives.
