Mark 9: 33-37- Teaching Servant Leadership
Read Mark 9: 33- 37- This section title in the Bible for this passage is “Attitude of Servanthood”. The disciples still had not gotten the whole idea of servanthood and Jesus taught then in a straight-forward manner. In verse 35 Jesus said, ‘(35) And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to the, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all an d servant of all.”’ I needed to learn to check my ego at the door whenever I was involved in church work or my chosen profession. I had to learn what servant leadership was and what i looked like on a daily basis. It meant helping a single mom work a schedule that would allow her to more easily care for her child . It meant staying late after a church dinner and stacking ta bles and vacuuming the floors. It meant working late into the evening so one of the other staff could be home with their family.
