Luke 16: 1-13- Proper Stewardship

Read Luke 16: 1- 13-   This is a parable Jesus shared of stewardship and how money can drive people. Jesus wants us to see that we must be consistent in how we live our lives and not let something like money make principle decisions for us. In verse 10 we read, "(10) He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." Jesus finishes in verse 13 by saying, " (13) No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."   Whatever the valuable currency of the time was, Jesus knew that would drive many people if not obsess them. It is so good to see people who have earne d large sums of money and have used that money as a tool to help other people. We still have people who have not learned the lesson Jesus is speaking about as they use their great sums of money to push their non- Biblical philosophies or use it to gain influence and power to control people. Throughout all the Beatitudes, Jesus is working to help us live our best lives and sometimes that best life runs contrary to what non-believer...
