Luke 16: 1-13- Proper Stewardship

Read Luke 16: 1-13-

This is a parable Jesus shared of stewardship and how money can drive people. Jesus wants us to see that we must be consistent in how we live our lives and not let something like money make principle decisions for us. In verse 10 we read, "(10) He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much." Jesus finishes in verse 13 by saying, "(13) No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

Whatever the valuable currency of the time was, Jesus knew that would drive many people if not obsess them. This is one of the greatest things in life we need to be aware of and guard against, being obsessed with the currency of the world. Taken a step further, Jesus is showing we must be consistently and uprightly responsible in taking care of the responsibilities we have. Whether great or small is not the variable.

It is important we honor the principle of stewardship to provide a strong testimony of our faith in Christ.

Proverbs 15: 22- Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.
