John 19: 25-27- Caring At All Costs

Read John 19: 25-27-

We are living in a world filled with division.  In our society, it is as if there are two warring sides on almost every issue.  We also have a lot of talk about how we should care more about people and help those more who have legitimate needs.  There are many people who are doing just that, helping others who really need the help. We are actually beginning to hear about a lot of the efforts being made to help people considered less fortunate.  Jesus set an example of caring for others at His most difficult time.  He cared for His mother and actually mentioned it while dying on the cross.

Starting in verse 25, “…but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. (26) When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple who He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son!’  (27) Then He said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.”

It is easier to care for others when it is convenient for us. Jesus showed us we need to care for others at any time.
