Matthew 5: 17-20- The Bible and Jesus

Read Matthew 5: 17-20-

There are some people who believe we should dismiss the Old Testament and focus only on the New Testament. I understand there is a large amount of information in the New Testament that focuses on the daily living of Christianity.

Jesus Himself saw the need for the principles written in the Old Testament because so much of what was written in the Old Testament actually pointed to Him. ‘” Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”

God has given us so much quality teaching and direction throughout the entirety of the Bible. We need to be working to assimilate as much of it as possible so we can be better equipped to live a strong Christian life. This approach allows us to see how Jesus is the focus of the word God has given us.
