Matthew 5:6- Are We Hungry for God?

Read Matthew 5:6-

If you are reading this, you are probably included in this verse. Jesus tells us, ‘” Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”’ As I begin to list all the everyday activities a Christian should do, this is one of the things we need to do in our lives.

We need to foster this feeling and thought to want to know more about God.  We need to study the Bible.  We need to pray and listen for what the Holy Spirit may have for us. Jesus is telling us our time will be much more than worth it.  He will reward us for our desire to know Him more and to live as He would have us live. Yes, it takes effort, but it should be happy effort.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows?
