Matthew 14: 13-21- God First, Situations Second

Read Matthew 14: 13-21-

Jesus knew He needed time to recharge Himself physically, but He also knew the needs of the people who followed Him were great. He was watching the people and knew what the needs were. He knew the people needed to know who He was.

Jesus then told the disciples this in verses 16, 18, and 18, ‘But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They said to Him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” And He said, ‘Bring them here to me.’”

Jesus blessed the food and then set about to meet the needs of the people. This is an example of how I need to be more like Jesus. Too many I may see a need, and I see limited resources or roadblocks, and I don’t proceed to find a way. I need to be more aware of the need to pray and bless the situation before I act and then watch and listen to God. I need to think God first, and the situation second.
