Matthew 19: 27-30- Our Positions In Heaven

Read Matthew 19: 27-30- 

The disciples were 12 special people at a very special time. Jesus knew these twelve men would be facing very trying times, but He also knew the strength they would find in the power of the Holy Spirit would sustain them through those trying times. Jesus also addressed people and their positions in His kingdom.

 In verse 30 Jesus said this, “But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” 

As I try to be a better Christian, the last thing I should be considering is where I will be in Jesus’ kingdom. I do not want to spend my time thinking about positions in Jesus’ kingdom when there is so much more I need to be working on in my life to be a better Christian right now. I have a long way to go. Knowing heaven awaits me as a believer in Jesus Christ is more than enough. 

I feel I need to focus on where I am today in my relationship with Jesus Christ and work to be a little better tomorrow. I need to focus on the act of a humble approach to my relationship of Jesus Christ and what I need to do to strengthen my testimony and know just being in heaven in the presence of Jesus Christ is the ultimate reward.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows?
