Matthew 21: 23-27- A Simple Testimony

Read Matthew 21:23-27-

The religious leaders were working to discredit Jesus, and they thought they had found a way to trick Jesus into what they would consider blasphemy. They just would not accept Jesus as the Messiah because He did not meet their preconceived ideas of what the Messiah should look like.  In verse 23 the religious leaders said this, ‘And when He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?”’

The lesson I need to take from this passage is to be prepared at any time to tell people what I believe and to be able to do it in simple terms so there is no confusion about what I am saying. So many people today use word salads to answer questions when they are either unsure about what they believe, or they are concerned about what people will think about them. I need to practice and be able to quickly and succinctly tell people why I believe in Jesus Christ and how that belief positively impacts my life. I need to be ready to confidently spread the message whenever I am given an opportunity.
