Matthew 22: 15-21- Be Clear

Read Matthew 22: 15-21-

Again, the religious leaders were looking to trick Jesus into saying something that was blasphemous in their opinion. They still did not understand or want to understand who they were trying to trick. Jesus plainly let them know what He thought, ‘Tell us then what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites?”’

Sometimes it is important to be very clear about what we are saying. We also need to pray the Holy Spirit will be with us when we are talking to others so we will know the correct words to say that will strengthen our testimony for Christ. Jesus came back to those attempting to trick Him and said in verse 21, ‘...Then He said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s”’

There are laws in this world we should all obey and there are spiritual laws that need to be followed. Jesus was clear about this, and the religious leaders were again left frustrated and concerned more about their status than their spiritual lives.
