Mark 1: 35-45- Pray, Work and Know God

Read Mark 1: 35-45-

Although Jesus knew who He was, He knew as a human being, He needed to pray. The disciples found Him praying. He was setting an example for them to follow and setting an example for us to follow. Jesus was there to make the world at that time to know what God was all about but He still knew He needed to pray prior to presenting His gospel.  Jesus also still saw the people and what their needs were.

In verses 43, 44, 45 we read this, ‘And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once, and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to Him from every quarter.’

Jesus was there for the people to see who He was, but He was also there to meet the needs of people and to help people. He did this when He healed the man of leprosy. Jesus was here for the redemption of our sins, and He showed why He was worthy of this mission.  I need to follow His example, to pray, to work, and to acknowledge and proclaim the goodness of God.

Proverbs 3: 5-6- Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
