Mark 5: 1-20- Jesus Christ’s Power
Read Mark 5: 1-20-
The lessons from these twenty verses are many. Focus on what is said in verse 19, ‘and he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.”’
I’m not sure I even want to consider the level of demon possession this man was under or why he had gotten to that point in his life. The fact he physically could not be restrained, even by chains, tells us about an inhuman ability of strength that is more than dangerous. Knowing this level of strength and possession, even the demons knew who Jesus was when Jesus approached. Wildly out of control demons knew they could not stand up against the power of Jesus Christ.
When we are faced with situations in our lives we think are somewhat out of control, we need to remember the power of Jesus Christ and that is why we pray. We need to remember to invoke the name of Jesus Christ in those situations and know that even the demons cannot stand against the power that Jesus holds over them. We need to make sure we do not underestimate the power that rests simply in the name of Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 5: 18- Let you fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, (19) a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.
