Mark 12: 35-37- Jesus, Son of God

Mark 12: 35-37- (35) The Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David? (36) For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’ (37) Therefore, David himself calls Him Lord, how is He then his Son?” 

These three verses show Jesus challenging the who the scribes were wanting Jesus to be. They apparently wanted Jesus to simply be a teacher from the lineage of David. They were not ready to accept him as the Son of God. Are we no different from the scribes? 

So many in society want Jesus to be a good teacher or a perceived prophet. There seems to be a growing number of people in our world who want to acknowledge Jesus actually lived but are not the least bit interested in seeing Him as the Son of God. I need to look at the entirety of the Bible and dwell on what is recorded that Jesus said and then accept by faith, He is the Son of God. The witness of the Holy Spirit in our world shows us more and more that Jesus is Lord. 

I simply need to accept Him as that.  

Proverbs 10:19- In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows?
