Mark 13: 28-31- "My Words Will Not Pass Away"

 Read Mark 13: 28-31- 

Jesus gives us a simple word for all of us to cherish and hold close to our hearts. In verse 31 we hear Jesus say this, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” 

This is a relatively short sentence that should embed this philosophy deep within us. The words of Jesus, the words He shared and have been given to us in print through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit will forever be true. The principles withstand time. Jesus’ principles stand clear regardless of changing societal norms. Jesus’ words will not pass away, and we can live our lives on this solid foundation of faith.  

Proverbs 10: 26-As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy man to those who send him.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows?
