Luke 6: 27-30- Looking at People Differently
Read Luke 6: 27-30-
Concentrate on verses 27 and 28. "(27) But I say to you who hear; Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, (28) bless those who curse you and pray for those spitefully use you."
Jesus is wanting us to work toward viewing other people in a different way. This was very different for the time when Jesus spoke these words but this approach to other people who cross our lives is still something that is not the usual responses of most people. Jesus wants us to up our game. He wants us to view people who treat us negatively as someone we can hopefully influence by our measured response based on Jesus' words and our belief in Him.
We need to view people differently than most people so we can potentially bring those people closer to Christ through our responses and how we live our lives. This is a difficult thing for us to do within our own nature. Jesus wants us to be better.
Proverbs 12: 3- A man is not established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous cannot be moved.
