Luke 8: 41-48- Am I Close Enough?

Read Luke 8: 41-48- 

Verse 46 says, ‘But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from me.”’ 

Having read this passage many times, I usually go to the point in the passage where the Jesus addresses the woman needing healing. Verse 46 though became personal to me. Am I close enough for Jesus to recognize when I approach Him? In a great throng of people would Jesus recognize me if I touched Him? I want to say, “Yes, He would.” 

This passage shows me I need to continue to pursue my faith in Christ so I can stay close to Jesus. I also need to watch the world around me and see when I am close to a need that begs to be met. I need to pray for the same type of sensitivity Jesus displayed to the woman with an issue of blood. 

Proverbs 13: 6- Righteous guards him whose way is blameless, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows? Jesus knew what they did need to hear though.   (27) But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food.   Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you.
