Luke 9: 1-11- Being Prepared

Read Luke 9:1-11-

“(1) Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. (2) He sent them to preach the king of God and to heal the sick.”

Jesus disciples became the first Christian missionaries. Jesus wanted the disciples to become accustomed to speaking to people and learning to work on His behalf. Jesus knew there would be a time when the disciples would be challenged, and this was part of their preparation.

The lesson I need to take away from this story is to stay prepared to work to convey His principles wherever and whenever necessary. We do not know when the challenges will arise, but we do need to continue to prepare ourselves and study to not only show ourselves to be approved but to continually study to respond to how our society may approach us when we profess our faith and belief in Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 13:9- The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
