Luke 14: 1-6- Seeing the Needs of people First

Read Luke 14: 1-6-

This passage gives us another instance where Jesus heals a needy person on the Sabbath and then asks the leaders if they would not rescue a member of their family on the Sabbath. In verse 5 Jesus says, '(5) And He said to the, "Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?"'

How many times do we find ourselves in situations where we think there are certain expectations about how we should behave in that specific setting? Many times, we are more interested in meeting the other's expectations rather than pushing those expectations aside and doing what Jesus would have us do to meet the needs of someone else.

This may require us to exercise a certain amount of courage to defy the expectations of others so Jesus' name can be pushed to the forefront.  we need to grow to be confident in our knowledge of Jesus Christ and be prepared to respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in order to do the work of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 15: 10- There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; whoever hates reproof will die.
