Luke 19: 1-10- Going Above & Beyond
Read Luke 19: 1-10-
The story of the tax collector, Zacchaeus, who climbed a tree to see Jesus. The best lesson of this passage is in verse 10 that says, (10) "for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." There is another lesson in this passage about going above and beyond in a given situation. Verse 8 sees Zacchaeus saying this, (8) The Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."
Zacchaeus wanted to do more than make amends for any of his transgressions; he wanted to do so with interest. There is the good testimony of making amends and then there is the great testimony of making amends with interest. We need to work to see our Christian testimony stronger by going above and beyond to help others and to serve Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 16:5- Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
