Luke 21: 29-33- Jesus' Living Words

 Luke 21: 29-33- 

Jesus is continuing to talk about the future of Jerusalem and His kingdom's return. Verse 33 is the verse we have to hold close to our hearts. "(33) Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will by no means pass away." 

We are witnesses today of the validity of this verse Jesus has given us. His words continue to live with us today. I specifically use the word "live" because this is the power of the words Jesus has given us. As we slowly go through the Bible we see how Jesus' words impact how we live now. We also see how the entirety of the Bible shines light into our lives and give us guidance in all areas of our lives. Jesus' words continue to grow and live in the lives of those who believe in Him. 

Proverbs 16:28- A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends.

Matthew 8: 22-27- How Big is My God?

Read Matthew 8: 22- 27- This is a common passage many preachers like to talk about when it comes to life’s trials.  In verses 26 and 27 Jesus said this, ‘And He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sor t of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him.”’ I ask myself this question today, “How little is my faith?” The disciples asked why sort of man is this . I need to ask myself what sort of man is this ?   I need to be asking how big is my God? When life’s issues arise, I need to realize Jesus Christ is much bigger than my issues. I need to believe Jesus Christ will be helping me through these issues and I need to allow His peace to work through me in those situations. We do not fully realize how big our God is.

John 6: 22-59- What's My Motivation?

        Read   John 6: 22-59-       There is so much in this section of the book.   I think verses 22 through 27 address the motivation of the people.   As a way of immediately getting their attention, He calls them out.   (26) Jesus replied, “The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.” That tells me the people were looking for a free lunch.   It maybe they were extremely poor and did not know where their next meal was coming.   It maybe they were just looking for free food because they didn’t have anything better to do.   Who knows? Jesus knew what they did need to hear though.   (27) But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food.   Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you.
